Paper Mario

Paper Mario, released for Nintendo 64, is one of the Mario RPG's, and is the precursor of the Paper Mario series, and is then followed by Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for GameCube, and Super Paper Mario for Wii.

The game is set in the Mushroom Kingdom. Following a line of a good game of Mario, Princess Peach is kidnapped by Bowser, and to rescue her, Mario must find the seven "Star Spirits", thereby nullifying the effects of the Star Rod, which grants invincibility to fire breather dinosaur.

Many of the challenges encountered in the game are based on the abilities of Mario's partners, who have special skills needed to progress. The more places are visited, more partners are accumulated. Only one partner can follow Mario, but you can exchange it for another at any time. When they suffer damage, they are paralyzed for a while, since they do not have individual HP. The attacks are similar to those found in traditional RPGs, but the player can influence the power of an attack by pressing a button in time broker or running certain commands. Special attacks are limited and consume Flower Points. They can be improved earning Star Points (experience) and increasing level.

You can earn and purchase items to help the characters in and out of battles. Users can either provide new attacks and restore the health of Mario during the fights, they consume Badge Points, and therefore can only equip a limited number of Badges at a time. At certain points of the game you can play as Peach. The objectives and actions of each transition to Peach vary.
